401k Plans have been established with the goal of providing the tools and resources to help you plan for and achieve financial security in retirement. Through your 401k plan, you elect to save a percentage of your pay each pay period through payroll deduction. Our plans have both a pre-tax and Roth feature so you can decide whether you want deductions from your pay before income taxes or after income taxes.
All employees are eligible to participate in the 401k plan. Refer to the Plan Highlights or your specific summary plan description for full details regarding eligibility, contributions and vesting.
INVESTMENT OPTIONS
You may direct the contributions to your account among several investment options or allow the plan to select the default investment for you. The funds offered have varying levels of risk/reward and expense associated to them.
FINANCIAL ADVICE
Savings towards retirement and making wise 401(k) decisions is tougher than ever. Many employees have asked for more assistance and retirement planning advice and we are happy to deliver! You will have access to financial experts who will be able to answer the question “What should I do”. We have partnered with an independent plan investment advisor to provide expanded investment education and participant advisory sessions.

BENEFICIARY DESIGNATIONS
Beneficiary designations are legal designations that are needed whenever a qualified retirement plan provides benefits to beneficiaries of deceased participants. They state who is to receive the benefits and how benefits are to be paid in the event of a plan participant’s death. It is important that you complete and periodically update your beneficiary designation. Beneficiary designations can be done online by logging into your Principal account or by using your mobile device and the QR code on the flyer here. You can also do your beneficiary designation via the paper beneficiary form here and mailing that form to the Principal address on the form.
